Previously with PolyGram and Summit, Samantha runs sales, production and financing entity The Salt Company with three partners, responsible for sales to North America and all marketing and PR. Recent Salt projects for which Samantha takes EP credits include comedy drama Miss You Already starring Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette directed by Catherine Hardwicke; and feature documentary Sunshine Superman which opened this year’s Toronto Film Festival. In 2010 Samantha created “The Vipers Nest”, a creative collective for commercial first-time filmmakers. She was also a founder board member of Film Export UK, the trade association for British sales companies, and is a regular speaker for the likes of the BFI, NFTS, LFF and Inside Pictures.
Gary Phillips is joint managing director of London based sales company Moviehouse Entertainment, which was formed in 2001. Prior to launching Moviehouse with Mark Vennis, a colleague at sales and financing company J&M Entertainment, Phillips was head of sales at J&M from 1995 to 2000. He also headed sales at Majestic Films in 1994/5 and worked in sales capacities prior to that at The Samuel Goldwyn Company, Weintraub Entertainment and Warner Bros. At Moviehouse, he handles the sales brief on a varied slate of movies.
Commercially-minded and creatively-spirited, Protagonist Pictures is an international sales company, committed to strong relationships with film-makers, investors and distributors. The shareholders include Film4, Vertigo Films and Ingenious Media. A graduate of the Media Business School ‘Mega Plus’ European Masters in Audio Visual Management, Emily has worked in international co-production strategy for LA based production company Occupant Entertainment (The Wackness, Better Living Through Chemistry, Madame Bovary). Emily began her career in native Ireland working in both independent production and distribution for Dublin based companies Fastnet Films, Blinder Films and Treasure Entertainment.
Martina Ternstrom is Head of Acquisitions for Northern Europe (UK, Scandinavia, Benelux) at pan-European film distribution company Koch Media. Koch release 15-20 films a year theatrically and have recently acquired rights to Son of a Gun, Wish I was Here, X+Y , Dark Horse and Goodnight Mummy amongst others.
Elisar over 25 years in the film and television industry working in both production and international film and TV sales. His most recent film productions are Deadly Virtues (recently premiered at FrightFest) and zombie comedy Ibiza Undead currently in post-production. He sat on the Board of Directors of the New Producers Alliance in the 1990s and sat on the Board of Directors of Film Export UK – an industry body representing the UK international sales sector where he worked with both the UK Film Council and BFI in maintaining lottery funds support for the international promotion of British films.. Elisar also has taught feature film marketing and selling at Raindance, London Film Festival and National Film and TV School courses. An advocate for filmmaking online and producer of the internationally award-winning web series 3some, Elisar is the founder of Raindance Web Fest, programmes the VidfestUK area of MCM London Comic Con and is the founder of Digital Creators UK.
