Join us and discover how a vintage invention, hacked up with today’s powerful smartphone technology, can help you look at cognitive storytelling in a brave new way. We will also be discussing other advances in storytelling technology, from Virtual to Augmented to Transmogrified (huh?) reality.

We go beyond the traditional frame to talk about the future of mobile AR and VR experiences with Google Cardboard. Sharing insight about the brave new pioneers of VR like Chris Milk and how we can tap into his vision of VR creating empathy and the new ways of making content.

The first 30 ticket holders will receive a BrizTech PsychFi Google Cardboard Viewer to experience VR at first hand.

Indie Video Entertainment Specialist, James E. Marks, has associate produced several original YouTube creator projects such as Ashens & The Quest For The Game Child – The Movie, Lee Hardcastle’s A Good Clay To Die HardClay Cat’s Hitman Absolution, Harry Partridge’s Skyrim cartoons and the award-winning British Red Cross social video for social good series featuring popular UK YouTube stars Ali-A, KickthePJ, Danisnotonfire, AmazingPhil, Crabstickz, Sprinkleofglitter and TomSka.

Steve Dann - CEO, Amplified Robot

Based in London, Steve is currently the CEO of Amplified Robot, which he founded, and also the co-founder of a number of new technology startups. He is responsible for spear-heading Amplified Robot’s drive into the up and coming Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality sectors. An AR & VR Guru and Evangelist, Steve is the founder and organiser of Augmenting Reality, Europe’s largest Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Meetup group. He is a regular writer and contributor to media blogs, and a thought-leader in the realms of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. He is a regular speaker and broadcaster on the subject of AR, VR and disruptive technology at conferences and events around the world.

Sotirios VarsamisSpace Architect

Sotirios Varsamis is a space architect (ARB) with a long background in architectural design and interdisciplinary research. He holds a PhD in Architecture and a MSc in Architectural History & Theory by the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL completed with a full time scholarship for post-graduate studies in Architectural History by the Hellenic State’s Scholarship Foundation (IKY). He has designed and supervised residential buildings and is involved for many years with retail, product and industrial design companies like Selfridges and Design House Stockholm. His design and media work has been presented and exhibited in the UK and abroad. His research specialization fields include an original approach and study of textual and architectural spatiality. With his research work has defined the term spatial writing, a tradition that examines text’s use as an active design tool and the spatial experience of non-linear geometric narratives in architecture and literature by looking in Orphic poetry, Platonic theory, Latin sign-theory, mnemonics, structural and poststructural linguistics and writers and architects like Optatianus Porfirius, Vitruvius, Giordano Bruno, Georges Pe.

Abby Scollay - VFX Supervisor and Senior Stereographic Compositor

I have more than ten years professional experience in visual effects as a 2D Compositor. In the last few years I have had the opportunity to hone my Compositing skills and have worked on feature films such as :
Guardians of the Galaxy, Jupiter Ascending, Under The Skin, Cloud Altas, Hugo, Captain America and many others....  
I have recently shifted my focus to on-set vfx work and I am most interested in advancing my skill set in this area. I am comfortable working in a team environment and have worked in various roles in the pipeline.

Richard Crosby - BrizTech Ltd.

Head of technology at retailer BrizTech Limited - specialists in 'Google Cardboard' headsets. Richard has been involved in various commercial VR projects for a range of clients, from big business to the arts and media sector, as well as having an insight into the consumer market for the low cost headset.
