Sean Bobbitt, B.S.C., began his career as a news cameraman in the early 1980s working with the American networks, covering the major hotspots of the world. He then went on to shoot documentaries and in the late ‘90s began shooting drama for both film and television; in 1999 he shot ‘Wonderland’ for Michael Winterbottom. In 2008 he shot director Steve McQueen’s debut feature ‘Hunger’, which garnered huge critical acclaim and won, amongst others, the prestigious Camera d’Or at Cannes. Sean has reunited with both Michael Winterbottom – on ‘The Killer Inside Me’ – and Steve McQueen – on ‘Shame’ and ‘12 Years a Slave’, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Brad Pitt. He also worked on Neil Jordan’s ‘Byzantium’, Derek Cianfrance’s ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ and Spike Lee’s remake of ‘Oldboy’.
