In the Californian Santa Cruz Mountains an accomplished, famous writer, Maya Dardel, announces she intends to commit suicide and that she is seeking a male writer who would become the executor of her estate. As the contestants arrive her game begins challenging them intellectually and erotically, twisting and manipulating to make them play by her rules. But what is her real endgame and will it be revealed by one of the men? Zachary Cotler's and Magdalena Zyzak's film is an intriguing, dark vision of decaying talent in the mysterious world of art. Thought provoking and shocking from the very beginning to the very end , leaving the audience in awe and dismay, it raises the issue of libertarianism, personal freedom and the value of literature in the modern world. After all, what is it worth without an author true to himself? Lena Olin delivers a performance of a lifetime as the enigmatic, cynical Maya Dardel, captivating the audience with her authenticity and craft, having been directed in the past by, among others, the great Ingmar Bergman.
