My Millennial Life follows the daily struggles of five 20-somethings as they navigate relationships, financial struggles and survival in the 21st Century. Despite completing five internships, 25 year old Hope is still living at home with her parents and struggling to find a career. She is desperate to have something of her own, but like Emily, Tim, James and Meron, true independence, financial stability and workplace success is just a pipedream. In this candid documentary we witness their frustration and desperation living as the most highly educated yet underemployed generation in history. The charm in My Millennial Life is found in the refusal of these individuals to admit defeat even in the most depressing of circumstances. With humour and self-belief these millennials manage to persevere through countless applications, interviews and shifts at dead end jobs, always hoping for a brighter future. A revealing film from established documentary maker Maureen Judge, My Millennial Life tells the story of countless young adults across the Western world. Employing a variety of shooting styles, as well as an online interactive platform, this is a film which reaches out to a wide audience and forces them to listen.
