This painfully sincere documentary portrays the parents of a baby boy born with a rare and incurable disease. Leo Hueckel-Śliwiński is affected by Ondine’s Curse. The illness causes the complete cessation of breathing while he is asleep, meaning he must be attached to a ventilator for the rest of his life.
With great bravery Leo’s father, and the director of the film, directs the camera towards himself and his wife. He depicts the stark hardships of their everyday life. This is complimented by images of intimate conversations; parents voicing their darkest thoughts and fears as they try to come to grips with their curse.
