During their vacation on an isolated island, a troubled married couple are visited by their old Casanova friend. While tension between them rises, the islands mysterious supernatural side begins to manifest itself while ensnaring them. Magnificent dunes and turquoise waters surround the baffled trio as they slowly begin to comprehend the anomaly they have discovered. The film makes you feel trapped and secluded, stuck in the middle of a strange area with no place to run or hide, as does that brightly coloured, trippy landscape which enthrals and captivates, but will you be able to escape? What is the price of seeing and understanding the phenomena that the protagonists discovered? The answer lies deep in the waters... 'Stranger in the Dunes' is a terrific example of a small movie with great heart, keeping you on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next. A minimalistic, eerie sci-fi story that , that lingers long after the screening proving that independent cinema has no genre or budget limitations, with the productions outcome solely depending on the authors vision.
