An in-depth portrait of the life and career of the greatly influential British dancer Dr. Ross McKim, told through archive footage of his work, detailed personal interviews with colleagues, internationally renowned graduates, recent students, and the man himself. The film centers on his 30 year career as Artistic Director of the infamous Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, where he had an incomparable influence on the development of the institution. Director Suzanne Gielgud takes the opportunity to reflect on a legacy of creativity, skill and curiosity he leaves behind. The Gospel of Ross McKim invites viewers into the grace, intelligence and strange beauty of Ross McKim’s approach to dance and choreography and examines the manner in which he passed on his wisdom and technique to those he taught at the Rambert School. Revealing McKim’s unique contribution to the art, this is a rare insight into a hugely influential figure in modern dance.
