Amanda and Jake leave their home in Illinois to start a new life in Los Angeles. They’re moving in together after 6 months and family can barely hold back their disapproval. After sunshine drenched drives singing along to Chance the Rapper and Ray BLK, they arrive in L.A. with empty pockets and no plan. Slowly, but surely, the magic of the city washes away through bad luck and harsh truths – the relationship begins to splinter around the edges. We follow them through the first 24 hours in their new life, wondering if the decisions they make will keep them together or tear them apart. A sensitive low budget piece that charts a love/hate/love relationship with the city that became their home. Satire bites at the pretentious coffee shops and skid row real estate. Glamour abounds through the iconic landscapes and lofty dreams of its residents. The film could almost be a travelogue; the city literally mapped out as they move from place to place in search of an elusive end point. A stunning directorial debut, and terrific performances from the two leading actors, Morgan Saylor (HOMELAND) and McCaul Lombardi (AMERICAN HONEY). Harry Løvstrøm
